LITLIT 2023 was a small scale celebration of literary and print arts across California. Hosted as a holiday market at Zebulon in Frogtown, LARB welcomed over 25 presses and fellow literary organizations. We raffled off themed baskets chockfull of goods from our favorite local businesses. And it wouldn’t have been a day at Zebulon without a little party, featuring readers, DJs, and drag.

Celebrating west coast publishing

LITLIT highlights the width and breadth of West Coast publishing in an effort to platform the importance of small, independent presses. From art books to works of translation to novels, the West Coast publishing landscape offers crucial and thrilling perspectives. We were so thrilled to be joined for LITLIT 2023 by some of our favorite presses!

A LITtle literary party

It wouldn’t be a Zebulon event without a little party. LARB invited some of our favorite local DJs, Jay Simon and Shana Sarett, to spin for us as the all day market turned into a nighttime affair. Followed by readings from Aasir Cherot and Ivanna Baranova, plus a drag performance (“Little Red Scare”) by local organizer Chris Tyler, it was a night to remember.
