LITLIT, or The Little Literary Fair, is a free celebration of independent book publishers, book makers, and booksellers on the West Coast.

Presented by the Los Angeles Review of Books, LITLIT offers local presses and literary arts organizations an opportunity to share their perspectives, books, and goods with Angelenos of all stripes. As part of LARB’s mission to increase access to the world of literary and cultural production, LITLIT aims to strengthen public and institutional support for independent presses.

LITLIT 2024 will be held at the Pit LA on November 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m and feature over 40 literary presses and organizations from the West Coast. We are also thrilled to present a series of panels celebrating the literary arts presented with the support of UCLA and the Department of Cultural Affairs.

Over 5,000 people attended the first and second iterations of the fair in 2019 and 2022, presented by LARB in partnership with Hauser & Wirth Publishers and located at Hauser & Wirth’s beautiful open-air courtyard space in Downtown L.A.’s Arts District. In 2022 LITLIT hosted even more exciting panel discussions with publishers, authors, artists, and community organizers than the first round, as well as local food and bookish activities for all ages. In 2023, we expanded LITLIT into a new location at Zebulon in Frogtown, featuring dozens of vendors and an evening full of readings, DJs, and drag performances.

The fair has garnered press coverage in numerous outlets, including The Los Angeles Times, NBC Los Angeles, Los Angeles Daily News, Los Angeles Magazine, Spectrum News, TimeOut, Cinnamon Magazine, among others.
